Probably on Saturday, the 10 October 2026 You once again have the opportunity to secure your very own piece of List. We're auctioning off discarded, yet charming and lovingly restored List beach chairs. Each beach chair has its own story and brings with it a touch of List sand. Whether as a cozy reading corner in the garden, a unique piece of furniture on the patio, or simply as a memento of unforgettable days by the sea - a beach chair from List on Sylt is always a special eye-catcher.
Our beach chair auction isn't just a chance to win a unique souvenir or gift, it's also an exciting event for the whole family. Experience the special atmosphere as the coveted beach chairs are bid on. The thrill of an auction is guaranteed.
From October 5th, the beach chairs will be available for inspection and testing at the harbor in List on Sylt. This allows anyone interested to get a detailed impression before the bids are placed on the auction day. All beach chairs are also available for purchase. Auction booklet with photo to see.
Those who cannot attend in person have the opportunity to Preliminary bid This will then be the new starting bid. If no higher bid is received, the beach chair will go to the bidder at the stated starting bid.

The beach chair auction will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Auction begins at 14:30 p.m.
The auction begins at 14:30 p.m. and typically lasts 1,5-2 hours.
The beach chair auction is open to the public and will take place in the foyer of the Erlebniszentrum Naturgewalten (Nature Forces Adventure Center), Hafenstr. 37 in List on Sylt.
Registration is not necessary to attend. To bid, you will need to present your ID card on-site starting at 13:30 PM.
Accreditation begins at 13:30 p.m. Without accreditation, bidding on a beach chair is not possible.
An identity card is required for accreditation.
After registration (accreditation) you will receive a bidder number.
During the auction, you raise this clearly if you want to place a bid.
The auctioneer clearly announces the starting bid, bidding increments, and the knockdown.
The award is binding.
Approximately 40 beach chairs will be auctioned. These have stood on our beaches for several years, were previously refurbished, and still retain some of the "Lister character."
From October 6, 2025, all beach chairs to be auctioned will be available for public viewing and test sitting on the harbor forecourt in List.
Prices vary depending on demand.
In recent years, they have ranged between €250 and €500, and sometimes even higher for special copies (e.g. with certain dates).
Payment is due immediately after the auction, either in cash, by debit card, or by VISA/Mastercard.
Transport is not included in the purchase.
A carrier will be on-site, with whom you can arrange delivery. You can find the relevant costs and contact details on the flyer below.
Of course, you can also hire a shipping company or transport service of your choice or pick up the basket you won at auction yourself.
Intermediate storage is not possible; the basket must be picked up no later than the next working day.
Upon the winning of the auction, ownership and risk pass to the new owner. Collection must take place no later than the next business day.
A written preliminary bid can be submitted for this purpose. This can be submitted either in person at the List Tourist Office on Sylt or by email to vorgebot@list-sylt.de. Important: The preliminary bid must be submitted by 08.10.2025 must be submitted fully completed and will only be included in the auction with prior payment. The preliminary bid is the new starting bid and will be accepted if no higher bid is submitted.
The auction will take place indoors at the adventure center and is therefore weather-independent.
