in the bird decoy in Kampen
Forest bathing on Sylt is a special experience for all the senses: In the tranquil greenery of Kampen's bird sanctuary, it's not about speed, but about conscious perception. Slowing down step by step, feeling nature, marveling, and simply strolling aimlessly through the forest. Accompanied by mindful exercises and the special atmosphere of the woods, a deep sense of calm arises, almost like immersing yourself in another world. An experience that grounds you, slows you down, and shows you how beneficial it can be to simply be in the moment. Forest bathing originated in Japan, where it is called "Shinrin-Yoku." The term means something like "immersion in the atmosphere of the forest."
June 22 to July 31, 2026
With the exhibition “Tailwind in Color II”, the Kampen-based artist Thomas Landt presents a diverse selection of wool thread works, paintings and graphic art.
His works combine textile structures with clear forms and vibrant colors, creating compositions reminiscent of wind, waves, and movement. Landt develops a distinctive, contemporary visual language, moving between abstraction, landscape, and graphic precision.
The exhibition invites visitors to experience color as something dynamic and powerful – inspired by nature, space and atmosphere.

Christopher Lehmpfuhl is a plein air painter in the truest sense. His art is not created in the protected, warm studio, but in direct, physical engagement with the elements of nature. Without preliminary sketches, he confronts wind and weather. What is unique is that Lehmpfuhl uses neither brushes nor palette knives. He applies pure oil paint to the canvas with his bare hands, layering, pressing, and modeling it. Every gesture, from the broadest movement to the finest imprint, is the immediate expression of a fleeting observation of nature. In the process, even the occasional grain of sand finds its way uncensored into the texture of the painting.
