Across the island on two wheels
When a resounding roar rolls across the island from June 11th to 14th, it has nothing to do with thunder or crashing waves. Longtime Sylt fans, however, know what to expect: The Harley meet-up has been attracting riders and fans of these iconic motorcycles to the island for over two decades. 700 Harleys and around 1.000 participants are expected again this year. The tour around the island on Saturday is correspondingly long – and offers ample opportunity to stroll among concentrated technology and airbrushed artwork, starting on the promenade in Westerland, stopping at Lister Harbor, and ending the tour in Wenningstedt in the parking lot by the miniature golf course. If you are the proud owner of a legendary motorcycle, you could also join the evening Summertime Party on June 12th – instead of a tie and collar, Harley outfits are expressly desired.
