Westerland South

From the starting point, walk onto the footpath and cycle path that runs directly between the aquarium and the Sylt Stadium. Follow this path south, past the Südwäldchen (Southern Forest) and the campsite. Behind the Südwäldchen (Southern Forest), turn left across the parking lot toward the main road. Walk along the footpath and cycle path for about 300 meters until a narrow dune path branches off to the right. Use this path to walk through the beautiful dune landscape. Continue straight ahead without turning until you reach a parking lot, from which a wooden walkway leads to the beach. Use this path for a look "over the edge." Turn back at the sea, walk back along the wooden walkway, and then keep right at the fork in the path by the parking lot, which will take you back across a parking lot to the footpath and cycle path along the main road. Follow this path along Süderstraße and only use the second entrance into the Südwäldchen (Southern Forest). This path will then lead you back to the Sylt Stadium, from where you only have to walk a few meters on the footpath and cycle path familiar from the beginning towards the starting point and finish. 

In Westerland, follow the signs toward "Aquarium." The adjacent parking lot is the starting point for this running route.  

A large free parking lot (Schützenplatz) is directly at the starting point. 

From the train station or central bus station in Westerland it is about a 15-minute walk to the starting point. 

If you don't mind walking on sand, you can walk directly along the beach. However, you'll have to climb Sylt's highest beach steps to get there. Please bring your guest card with you. This will be checked at the beach crossings.
