Tinnumburg running circuit

If you start the tour from Westerland on the right side of the road, turn onto the narrow sandy path immediately behind the Tinnum Gemeindehaus bus stop. Follow this path to the end and then turn left onto the tarmac road. Take the next opportunity, which branches off to the right, and follow the sandy path until you cross a narrow bridge over a sluice and pass an allotment garden complex. Then take the turnoff to the right and follow this path to the tennis club. Directly after the club, a narrow path leads up to the dike, which you follow to the end before turning right again. If the route on the dike is too uneven for you, you can also walk part of the way along the footpath along the road to the left of the dike. Following the sandy path will take you directly to the historic Tinnumburg castle, where the sandy path becomes a wooden path. But you're not on the wrong track; you're still on the right track :) After Tinnumburg, take the left at the junction. You'll already know this path from the first leg of the hike. Follow it and cross the intersection onto the small, overgrown path. The campsite is on your right. At the road, turn diagonally left onto Ziegeleiweg until you reach Dirksstraße, where you'll turn right to return to the starting point. 

Good footwear is recommended due to the different surfaces: firm gravel, grass and tar.

There is a small free parking lot behind the Tinnum community center (Dirksstraße 11). 

It can be reached in 3 minutes by bus number 6 from Westerland central bus station, and in 18 minutes by bus "Kleiner Tinnumer." The route starts at the "Tinnum Gemeinde" stop.  

A public toilet is located at the start and finish point.

From Tinnumburg, you have a fantastic view over the expanse of the island. Shortly before the end of the tour, you'll pass a bakery if you start the tour before breakfast :)
