A lovely walk to explore the town of Rantum. The island's narrow waist offers simultaneous views of the tranquil Wadden Sea to the east and the raging North Sea to the west. Walk past the Sylt spring, where local mineral water is bottled and cultural events are held during the summer months, along the Rantum Basin nature reserve, which serves as a breeding and resting place for many birds, and through beautiful thatched-roof villages.

Directions
Start at Rantum Harbor, along the dike, heading southwest. You'll have a beautiful view of the Wadden Sea on your left, and a small forest on your right. Follow this path until you reach a residential area through a sheepfold. Cross this and then turn left onto Raanwai before the main road. Follow this path until you reach the southern edge of Rantum. There, cross the main road and walk directly onto the narrow dune path opposite. Enjoy this beautiful path until you reach Henning-Rinken-Wai, where you turn left. After a short stretch, this path also ends at a dune path with a beautiful view of the North Sea. Turn right as soon as you reach the beach path, which will take you back to the town center. Turn left at Stiindeelke and walk along this road until you reach the main road, where you'll continue north for a short distance. Take the next left onto "Am Sandwall" street. Walk to the end, where you'll find a traffic light. Cross the main road again and enter "Am Torbogen" street. Turn left again and then right again to return to the starting point and parking lot on Hafenstraße.

Arrival & Parking
Rantum is located on the L24 between Hörnum and Westerland. From the north, the entrance to the harbor is at the town entrance.
A free parking lot is located directly at Rantum harbor.
The starting point can be reached by bus line 2 (Westerland-Hörnum). Get off at the "Nord Sylt Quelle" stop and follow the signs towards the harbor on foot (approximately 10 minutes).

The main road through Rantum must be crossed twice. Please pay attention to traffic and use the traffic lights. There are also free-roaming sheep on the dike. Please be considerate of these furry four-legged friends. If you're walking the route with your dog, be sure to let him or her in there.
