A leisurely walk along the edge of the Wadden Sea with a view over the northern bay to Morsum and the Danish mainland.

The paved, level promenade is a wonderful place to walk. This walk is especially worthwhile in the morning hours, when the sun is still low over the mudflats. Since there are no complicated directions to follow, it's the perfect way to clear your head.

Take advantage of the sunrise and then a swim in the sea.

Directions

From the parking lot, cross the harbor area and the Sylt ferry terminal. The Oststrand Promenade begins immediately behind the ferry ticket booth. Follow this path for almost 2 kilometers to the end. There, turn right onto a small path between thatched-roof cottages to the "Freshwater Valley," which automatically leads you back to the Oststrand Promenade after 500 meters. Walk back along this path to the starting point.

Arrival & Parking

Follow the signs to List and then take the third exit at the harbor roundabout. You'll find the adventure center parking lot on your right.

There is a large free parking lot right at the start of the route.

Take bus line 1 from Westerland or from any town along the route to List Hafen. This will take you directly to the start of the route.
