Lister views

From the Lister Tourist Information Center, we cross Dünenstraße and take the wooden steps into the dunes. Passing old bunkers, the dune path ends at Südhörnstraße. We follow this road and cross Listlandstraße to reach the Lister Oststrand Promenade via the Frischwassertal (Freshwater Valley). We follow this promenade to Lister Hafen (Lister Harbor). We continue along the waterfront, keeping to the right of the Naturgewalten (Natural Forces) visitor center, to reach the Mövenbergdeich (Mövenberg Dike). We walk along the paved path on the dike until it meets the main road. We cross the road and walk parallel to it back towards the town. Shortly before the town entrance, a wooden staircase on the right leads up to the dune. We take a short detour to the viewing platform to admire the migrating dune. Back at the town entrance, we follow Mövenbergstraße back to the starting point of our tour.

In strong winds, windproof clothing is recommended.

Follow Listlandstraße to List. After entering the town, continue to the intersection at A-ROSA Sylt. There, turn left onto Dünenstraße. After a few hundred meters, you'll reach the start of the tour, which begins opposite the old school, now the List/Sylt tourist office.

Parking is available on Landwehrdeich Street or at the List Tourist Information Center. Alternatively, you can park at the harbor and start the route from there.

Take SVG bus line 1. The nearest bus stop is Alte Schule or Dünenstraße. Alternatively, you can also board the route from the final stop, List/Hafen.

The harbor in List is an excellent place to stop for refreshments along this tour – whether with an ice cream or a fish sandwich from Gosch. A hidden gem just before the end of the tour is the List cemetery – a truly special place nestled in the dunes.

The path on the dike and along the promenade slopes steeply in places and is not fenced. Therefore, it may be unsuitable for toddlers on balance bikes. The entire section along the water is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Further inland, the route includes wooden stairs, which can be bypassed.
