On the (almost) direct route from Westerland, past Wenningstedt and Kampen, to Lister Harbor. The classic among cycling tours.

This tour takes you through Wenningstedt and Kampen to List. Along the way, you'll see attractions such as the Wenningstedt promenade with the Haus am Kliff (House on the Cliff), the Wenningstedt village pond, and the Denghoog megalithic tomb. You can also admire both lighthouses in Kampen and the migrating dune in List. If you have a little more time, you can enjoy shopping in List, take a boat trip with the Adler ships, or visit the bird decoy between Kampen and List.

Directions

The tour begins at the Travelling Giant statue in the station forecourt. From here, we cycle to the Brandenburg parking lot. From there, we follow the cycle path parallel to the beach behind the dunes to Wenningstedt. We cycle through Wenningstedt, past the Haus am Kliff (House on the Cliff), to the village pond. There, we turn left towards Kampen. From here, we follow the cycle path that leads us through Kampen, past the lighthouse, along the old island railway line through the unspoiled dune landscape. At Blidselbucht, we have to cross the road once and then cycle east of the road, past the migrating dune, to List and on to the harbor. On the return journey, we stay on the paved cycle path parallel to the road to enjoy the view across the Wadden Sea. Passing the bird decoy, we return to Kampen, where we cycle through the town to the Kupferkanne (Copper Pot). From there, we cycle directly past the Kampen lighthouse back to Wenningstedt. We follow the cycle path back to Alt-Westerland, passing the old village church of St. Niels before reaching the train station.
