An educational and hiking trail that invites you to explore the archaeology of prehistory and early history on Sylt: The hünen.kulTour.
Hardly any other region in Germany has been as characterized by burial mounds and megalithic tombs as the North Frisian Islands. The burial mounds date back to the Neolithic, Bronze, and Viking periods.
The excursion is divided into three tours. Each tour includes several locations that you can explore on foot or by bike. The tour map will guide you along the way. You can proceed systematically or simply set off and be surprised by the historical monuments you encounter along the way.
Each panel is self-explanatory, and each location along the footpaths and cycleways is carefully selected to ensure that the panels are unmissable. We wish you much enjoyment on this exciting excursion into the island's prehistory and early history!
