This tour brings together Hörnum's two facets: the tranquil east side with its harbor basin and golf course, and the white west beach with its wind and surf. Walk past the harbor, up the wooden steps, through the dunes, and watch the golfers play their rounds. The subsequent stretch along the west beach is perfect for shell hunting and clearing your head before heading back to Hörnum's east side through the green valley and the town.

Directions
From the harbor parking lot, we head to the other side of the harbor basin and keep right of the Hotel Budersand to reach the hiking trail on Hörnum's east side. With a view of the Hörnum golf course, we follow this path and climb the dunes via wooden steps. With a view of the Hörnum allotment gardens, we descend again to the youth hostel. There we cross Rantumer Straße and use the beach crossing to reach Hörnum's west beach. There we keep left and follow the coast south to the main beach, where we climb the beach steps. At the top, we keep right to return to the town center via the Kersigsiedlung and the green valley. We walk back along Strandstraße to the east beach and along the promenade back to the starting point.

Part of the route is on the beach, so windproof clothing and shoes suitable for sand are recommended. In summer, barefoot walking is possible.
Arrival & Parking
From Westerland, follow the signs toward Hörnum. Once in Hörnum, follow the main road to Hörnum Harbor.
There is a large paid parking lot right next to the harbor, which is also the starting point of the tour.
Take the SVG bus line 2 to the Hörnum, Hafen hafen terminus. The tour starts directly at the bus stop.

After the hike, Café Lund invites you to enjoy homemade ice cream or a slice of cake. The Sylt mussels at the harbor are also highly recommended.
