Directions
The tour begins at the Traveling Giant in front of the station. From here, it continues to the Brandenburg car park. From there, we follow the cycle path parallel to the beach behind the dunes to Wenningstedt. Through Wenningstedt, we cycle past the Haus am Kliff (House on the Cliff) to the village pond. Before reaching the Inselcircus grounds, we turn left towards Kampen. From here, we follow the cycle path that leads us through Kampen, past the lighthouse, along the old island railway line, through the untouched dune landscape. At Blidselbucht, we do not cross the road, but keep left to reach the Alte Listlandstraße (Old Listland Road). This takes us west past the shifting dune to the beginning of the Ellenbogen (Elbow), where a detour to Germany's northernmost point is possible. From here, we continue along the Mövenbergdeich (Mövenberg Dike) to List. There, we cycle south again on the main road past the harbor. On the way back, we stay on the paved cycle path parallel to the main road to enjoy the view over the Wadden Sea. Past the bird hide, we return to Kampen, where we cycle through the town to the Kupferkanne (copper can). From there, we continue directly past the Kampen lighthouse to Braderup, where we take a detour along the Braderup Heath and through the town. Via Munkmarsch, we continue to Keitum, where we cycle parallel to the mudflats past St. Severin's Church, the Sylt Museums, and the Harhoog megalithic tomb. Via the underpass at Keitum train station and the Siidik (river), we reach the Tinnum meadows, which lead us back to Westerland via rural roads and cycle paths.
