Directions
The tour begins at the Travelling Giant statue in the station forecourt. From here, we head to the Brandenburg parking lot. From there, we follow the cycle path parallel to the beach behind the dunes to Wenningstedt. We cycle through Wenningstedt, past the Haus am Kliff (House on the Cliff), to the village pond. There, we turn left towards Kampen. From here, we follow the cycle path that leads us through Kampen, past the lighthouse, along the old island railway line through the unspoiled dune landscape. At Blidselbucht, we don't cross the road, but keep left to reach the Alte Listlandstraße (Old Listland Road). This road leads us west past the migrating dune to the beginning of the Ellenbogen (Elbow), where a detour to the northernmost point of Germany is possible. From here, we continue on the Mövenbergdeich (Mövenberg Dike) to List. There, we cycle along the main road past the harbor, heading south again. On the return journey, we stay on the paved cycle path parallel to the road to enjoy the views across the Wadden Sea. Passing the bird decoy, we return to Kampen, where we cycle through the town to the Kupferkanne (copper pot). From there, we continue directly past the Kampen lighthouse to Braderup, where we make a detour along the Braderup Heath and through the village. Via Munkmarsch, we continue to Keitum, where we cycle parallel to the Wadden Sea, passing St. Severin's Church, the Sylt Museums, and the Harhoog megalithic tomb. Through the underpass at Keitum train station and the Siidik, we reach the Tinnumer meadows, which lead us back to Westerland via country roads and cycle paths.
