Through the Rantum dunes

We start at the parking lot in front of the Rantum church and walk along the beach path, past the beach shelter, to the beach crossing. Before the beach steps, we keep left and follow the gravel path on the dune. This leads to the paved Henning-Rinken-Wai, which we follow for a short distance until the path runs through the Rantum dunes on the right. We follow this path through the nature reserve until we reach the path to Tadjem Deel. Here we turn left and cross Hörnum Straße with a view of the Wadden Sea. From here we head north on the Raanwai until we switch to the pedestrian path north in front of the Hotel Watthof. We follow this path to the supermarket, where we return to our starting point via the beach path.

In strong westerly winds, a windproof jacket is recommended.

From Westerland, follow Hörnumer Straße toward Hörnum. In Rantum, follow the road to the town center and turn right onto Strandweg in front of the bakery.

The paid parking lot is located directly in front of the Rantum church on Strandweg and is also the starting point of the tour.

Take SVG bus line 2. Next stop: Rantum, Mitte.

At the end of the tour, we recommend the delicious cakes from the "Backstuuv Rantum".

During the tour, please stay on the paths and do not enter the Rantum Dunes Nature Reserve. Dune protection is island protection.
