This hike is a purple dream, especially in summer when the heath is in bloom. But the tour through the Braderup Heath also has its own special charm year-round. Due to its location on the east side of the island of Sylt, it's usually less windy than on the west beach, and depending on the weather, you can see across the Wadden Sea to the mainland. Various hiking trails guarantee variety and different perspectives. Definitely a Sylt hiking highlight!

Directions
We start at the parking lot in Braderup and initially walk toward the beach. Shortly before reaching the beach, we keep left on the hiking trail, heading north parallel to the beach. At the small shipwreck, we cross over to the beach for a short stretch before continuing north on the hiking trail. We reach the town of Kampen, and after a few houses, we turn left to reach the Kupferkanne (Copper Can). From here, we continue south again, parallel to the path we've taken so far. We reach Braderup again via boardwalks and hiking trails and follow the "Üp di Hiir" road back to the starting point.

Arrival & Parking
From Wenningstedt or Keitum, follow the signs toward Braderup. Once in Braderup, follow the road "Üp de Hiir" to the parking lot.
The parking lot on the street "Üp de Hiir" offers plenty of free parking and is also the starting point of the hiking route.
Take SVG bus line 3. Next stop: Braderup. About 10 minutes from the starting point.
