Spaces in Kampen deserve all sorts of attributes. Rustic, stylish, hygge, chic... it fits!

They are rare, though, when they are spacious. Anyone who takes in the cocktail of sculpture, photography, and modern paintings in the "Werkhallen" gallery will most likely have their heart melt.

Art lovers should definitely not miss a trip to the "underground." At the end of the long staircase, the ultimate "wow" moment awaits. This is created by the monumental space. But even more so by the art itself, which gallery owner Christiane Obermann has selected and displayed here in impressive formats.

XXL formats that captivate the viewer with all the senses are her thing. She doesn't represent old masters, however, but rather contemporary modernism in various genres. The combination of opulent photographic still lifes à la Vera Mercer, colorful wall objects by Willi Siber, and rugged, cool photographs, abstract steel compositions by Bernar Venet (to name just a few) is appealing. Masterfully curated. Up-and-coming young artists and truly great international artists such as Tony Cragg, Jörg Immendorff, Markus Lüpertz, and Anselm Kiefer, among others, are juxtaposed here, creating a remarkable field of tension.
