On the trail of the Krogh family.

Henner Krogh was an exceptionally talented, yet idiosyncratic Sylt musician. From the 1970s until his death in 1984, he shaped the island's music scene with his passion. His instruments – Guitar, banjo, violin and harmonica – he taught himself. Music was his life, and it remained his expression of creativity and emotion until the end.

After his death in 1987, his parents, Frauke and Henner Krogh sen., with the then town of Westerland – today the municipality of Sylt – a Contract of inheritance about her estate. The estate includes the house in Friedrichstrasse 15 in Westerland, the former residence of the Krogh family. Today it houses the famous Fish restaurant GOSCH.

The municipality of Sylt is obligated to maintain the house and property. A portion of the proceeds from this – at least 15.338,76 euros annually or 30% of the surplus – flows to the Henner Krogh Foundation for the Promotion of Sylt Musicians. Henner's passion for music remains alive to this day.

Any further surplus will be used exclusively for charitable, cultural and social purposes used on Sylt.
