IRIS VON ARNIM Store Sylt
For almost 50 years, IRIS VON ARNIM has stood for timeless luxury knitwear, exceptional craftsmanship, and a deep sense of quality. What began in 1976 with a knitted rainbow sweater is now an internationally successful family business based in Hamburg – known for luxurious cashmere collections created with passion, authenticity, and attention to detail.
The founder, Iris von Arnim, a pioneer in German knitwear, revolutionized the German cashmere market. After a turbulent youth and creative beginnings in Munich, she found her breakthrough in Hamburg. With her courage to rethink colors and her commitment to creating knitwear that is both comfortable and elegant, she became an icon—her designs a cult classic.
In the 1980s, Iris discovered high-quality cashmere—at that time still a luxury item, little known in Germany. With her innovative spirit and keen sensitivity, she left a lasting mark on the German fashion world. The brand evolved from hand-knitted sweaters to a clear signature: durable, puristic, and luxurious.
Valentin von Arnim, the next generation, joined the company. Since 2006, he has been driving the digitalization, internationalization, and modernization of the brand – always in keeping with his mother's values: quality, honesty, craftsmanship, and timelessness.
Today, IRIS VON ARNIM is one of Germany's few independent luxury labels. Our collections are created with creative dedication in Hamburg and manufactured in factories with whom we have partnered for decades. We want each piece to be a favorite—and to remain so.
