Dog beach at Lister Textil-Strand

One of two dog beaches can be found in List on Sylt, on the west beach, a few hundred meters south of beach access point 17 (textile beach). To reach the dog section from the main beach, please walk your dog along the high-tide line. Please be mindful of cleanliness and observe nature conservation regulations. Dog waste bags are available free of charge at the List tourist information office on Sylt, and also from the beach chair attendants during the bathing season from May 15.05th to September 30.09th. Generally, the shoulder seasons are recommended as the ideal time to travel for dog owners, as they offer your pets the most space.
With consideration for the local wildlife and other vacationers, considerate behavior is essential. Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the entire List area on Sylt – especially at Ellenbogen, where sheep graze freely. Unfortunately, in the past, there have been frequent incidents of dogs attacking or injuring sheep. Even from the beach, dogs can catch the scent of sheep and chase them into the dunes.
