Green Cliff

Tip:
cliff
Perfect for walks in Keitum with a view of the mudflats.
The Green Cliff is located in the captain's village of Keitum. An idyllic, approximately 7-kilometer-long hiking trail runs along the cliff from Keitum to Kampen. Unlike the other cliffs on Sylt, the Keitum Cliff is covered with green vegetation—hence the name Green Cliff. Due to the dense vegetation, the cliff in Keitum offers better protection from storm surges.
Did you know that Sylt's most important harbor used to be located here? Unfortunately, it no longer exists due to progressive silting.

Arrival & Parking

The Green Cliff is best reached on foot during a stroll through Keitum. The best parking for exploring the mudflats is the free parking lot at the Friesensaal.
