The village pond is always worth a walk around.
Located at the foot of the Frisian Chapel, you can enjoy nature on a walk under the treetops. A small walkway leads to a platform from which you can observe the birds on the islands in the water.
On Sundays, when the ship modelers launch their miniature boats, the pond is bustling. Otherwise, you'll find one thing above all else here: lots of peace and quiet.
So that village character of the village pond is preserved, a statute stipulates that the adjacent buildings must be provided with thatched roofs.
Note: Every year on the last Saturday in July the big Wenningstedt Village Pond Festival Children's programs, an arts and crafts market, a food court, and a colorful program promise a fun day.
