Guarded beach Klappholttal
Few people know that the first "light people" in the Klappholttal valley near List on Sylt indulged in the ideal of nudity in the open air. In 1919, a home for the Free German Youth was founded here, which evolved into the Klappholttal Adult Education Center, which still exists today. Magnus Weidemann, a co-founder of nudism, came here regularly from 1921 onwards.
Today's Lister nudist beach is located a bit further north at beach entrance 19.
