The Biike bonfire is celebrated every year on February 21st. Translated from Frisian, Biike means sea mark (beacon) or fire mark.

Originally, the North Frisian "national festival" was intended to drive away evil spirits and protect the new crops. For this purpose, a fire was lit on a long, beacon-like pole. Since the mid-19th century, the Biiken have been large gatherings of Christmas trees, as fir trees have been a common feature in Frisian homes since that time.

Many myths surround the origin of the Biike bonfire, some of which persist even today. One well-known interpretation is that the Biike served as a farewell to the whalers. They could only leave the harbors once they were ice-free, which was unusual in February during the 19th century. Nowadays, locals and tourists alike celebrate this special festival together.

Singing, dancing, acting, having fun and making new friends! In BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, we immerse ourselves together in the fairytale love story between the beautiful Belle and an enchanted prince who was transformed into a beast by a sorceress because of his unkindness.

His equally cursed servants Lumiere, Lord Unrest, Babette, as well as Madame Pottine and her son Tassilo, do everything they can to help Belle break the curse. Will they succeed before the last rose petal falls? Join in and play one of the enchanting characters, learn wonderful earworms like "Be Our Guest" or "Time Writes Tales." At the end of the week, you'll present your version of the fairy tale in costume!

Come with us to Wonderland! In our musical workshop, you'll step into the roles of Alice, the Blue Caterpillar, the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen, the Cheshire Cat, and many more! Over five intensive days, you'll have lots of fun learning songs and choreography, which you'll then present in a short Alice show at the end of the week. Embark on an adventurous journey where Alice must discover who she is and what she truly wants, overcoming many challenges along the way. No prior experience is necessary!

The highlight of the workshop is undoubtedly the grand performance at the end of the week. Family, friends, and all musical enthusiasts are warmly invited to experience the results of our intensive rehearsals live.

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, it's time again to cast off and head to the harbor! The festival starts at 12:00 noon for everyone who enjoys maritime flair, a great atmosphere, and diverse experiences.

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, you have another chance to secure your very own piece of List. We're auctioning off discarded, yet charming and lovingly restored List beach chairs. Each beach chair has its own story and brings with it a touch of List sand. Whether as a cozy reading corner in the garden, a unique piece of furniture on the patio, or simply as a memento of unforgettable days by the sea - a beach chair from List on Sylt is always a special eye-catcher.

Look forward to a contemplative first weekend of Advent, which will awaken the anticipation of Christmas with winter scents, festive sounds, and special moments for the whole family. Lovingly designed market stalls invite you to browse, while winter delicacies will take care of your culinary needs. Younger visitors can also look forward to a varied children's program.
