Recyclable plastics

  • plastics: Plastic nets, plastic bags, films, plastic bottles and tubes, closures, yogurt pots without aluminum lids, margarine pots, Styrofoam packaging
  • Metals: Beverage and food cans, biscuit and tea cans, cosmetic containers, closures, aluminum lids separated from cups, aluminum trays and foils, tubes, empty spray cans
  • Composites: Juice and milk cartons, vacuum packaging for coffee, other packaging made of several different materials

Important: The packaging must be completely emptied (i.e. well scraped or drained – not rinsed).

Paper & Cardboard

  • Newspapers, magazines, brochures, books, leaflets, catalogs, gift wrap, paper school notebooks, egg cartons, flour and sugar paper bags, writing paper, notepads, paper from computer systems, clean cardboard food packaging

Important: Only clean and dry material may be placed in the green bin!

  • Thermal paper, e.g. receipts or tickets, and baking paper (heavily coated) belong in the residual waste.
  • Tetrapaks belong in the yellow bin/recycling bin!
  • When combining paper and plastic, dispose of the components separately if possible (e.g. bread bags with a viewing window or advertising brochures in plastic sleeves).

Organic waste

  • Leftovers: Cooked meat, bones, fish bones, crab shells, cheese rinds, inedible and moldy food without packaging
  • Kitchen waste: Fruit and vegetable peels (including tropical fruit peels), eggshells and nutshells, bread scraps, tea leaves and tea bags, coffee grounds and filter bags, kitchen paper, napkins, paper towels
  • Garden waste: Cut flowers, potted flowers with bales (without pot), grass clippings, wild herbs, windfall fruit, shrub, hedge and tree clippings, leaves, moss, straw, hay, diseased plant parts

Tip: It's best to collect organic waste without a bag. Moist organic waste, such as potato peels, can be wrapped in kitchen paper. Alternatively, you can line the waste container with kitchen paper or use a paper bag.
