Equipped with a projector, speakers, battery, and screen, the e-cargo bike brings exciting (short) films to unusual locations: on the lawn, in the marketplace, or to less frequented corners. Whether it's culture, the environment, society, or simply a pleasant movie night, the program is tailored to the location, theme, and event. One format is our Film Night Rides, where we not only watch films together but also pedal. In the fall, we'll be pedaling together again. Since it gets dark earlier again, the season is perfect for the outdoor cinema experience.

With films & bikes through the night
You'll gain new perspectives on familiar places or discover entirely new ones. Even as a long-time Sylt resident, you'll get to know your island in a different way. The route lengths vary, and the pace is moderate. You can ride bikes with or without electric assistance—the main thing is that they're roadworthy and the lights work.

Then get the cargo bike cinema and turn it into your own cultural event! Equipped with a projector, screen, sound system, and battery, the e-cargo bike offers everything you need to show films – in (almost) any location on the island.
Whether it's an educational evening, project day, festival or cultural picnic, the cargo bike cinema can be borrowed free of charge for non-commercial events and can be used flexibly.
You choose the location, theme, and format; we support you with planning, technology, and implementation. This creates new learning spaces, cultural meeting points, and mobile open-air cinemas that make Sylt sustainable and vibrant.

The Cargo Bike Cinema Sylt is a project of Sylt Marketing within the framework of WORTH LIVING – sustainable SyltThe goal: to bring cultural and educational offerings to extraordinary locations on the island in an unconventional, decentralized way – low-threshold, climate-friendly, and flexible. Whether outdoors, as part of a festival, or as an extracurricular learning venue, the cargo bike cinema is a platform for educational and cultural institutions, Sylt clubs, environmental, youth, and social projects, and much more.

The combination of a bike ride, unusual venues and a communal film experience creates meeting places for exchange, togetherness and new perspectives, open to all, as barrier-free as possible and with free admission.
The cargo bike cinema not only promotes cultural participation, but also sustainable mobility on Sylt. It's almost CO₂-free, yet offers a rich experience. Venues that are difficult or impossible to reach by car become highlights.
Discover the region, strengthen identity
At the same time, the cargo bike cinema highlights special places on the island: natural wonders, historical sites, scientific stations, and favorite haunts become venues with history and stories. Thus, the cinema opens doors to local topics, whether with the Sylt Nature Conservation Embassy, the Sölring Foriining, Sylt youth and education projects, or the tour guide association "I'll Show You Sylt."
