The name says it all: In the uncomplicated atmosphere of the Muasem Hüs bistro, guests can feel completely at home. Hosts Anke and Sven Kießling are equally uncomplicated, serving many Sylt residents and guests in the bistro and the adjacent foyer, as well as in the cozy beer garden during the summer.
Delicious, no-frills dishes at an attractive price will whet your appetite: the menu ranges from delicate starters such as fried mussels or kohlrabi carpaccio to hearty soups such as “Lena's horseradish soup with salmon skewer” and “Solyanka à la Tomek” to sweet desserts such as red fruit compote with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
In season, homemade cakes are also served between 14 and 17 p.m. Meanwhile, chef Tomek conjures up meat and fish dishes that promise aromatic culinary delights: How about pan-fried fish, a cutter's plaice, or a crispy fried zander fillet? The sauerfleisch (sauerfleisch), Labskaus (labskaus), or pepper steak in cognac cream sauce are also definitely worth a try. Of course, the menu also includes vegetarian dishes such as kohlrabi schnitzel or vegetarian pasta with feta cheese, spinach, and tomatoes. The menu also surprises with changing seasonal specialties, some directly from the island, and with special offers such as burger and schnitzel days.
