The line that sometimes forms in front of the beautiful thatched-roof house is one of the great compliments for the aromatic scoops from the Sylt ice cream factory on Lister Dünenstraße (across from the A-ROSA Sylt). For ice cream maker Detlef Fügeisen, it's confirmation that people are so keen on his ice cream.
The review portals are full of positive comments: “perfect ice cream experience,” “super tasty,” “the queue was worth it,” “the chocolate ice cream is from another world,” etc.
The basic principle of Detlef Fügeisen's ice cream production actually seems quite simple: the best, natural ingredients, sourced regionally whenever possible, and treated with care. However, innovative ideas are also incorporated. This is how the ice cream factory's bestseller was born: quark and sea salt caramel ice cream. The milk comes from Morsum, and the sea salt from a local gourmet manufacturer. All organic! And you can taste it! Equally popular are eggnog milk ice cream, orange and ginger, and chocolate. These even go well with the fantastic Fairtrade coffees from Honduras, Venezuela, and India, which are specially blended with Sylt's water and prepared here using a La Marzocco portafilter machine... Have you acquired a taste for it?
During opening hours.
You can find the complete restaurant report in the current book Sylt à la carte. Available nationwide at bookstores, price €16,80, or in our online shop at www.eiland.de
