In the heart of Kampen's Whisky Mile, an oasis with an open kitchen and a large terrace. Rainbow cuisine and hospitality at its best. Breakfast and smorrebröd, homemade cakes, Brussels waffles. Sushi & sashimi. An imaginative menu.
The restaurant at Strönwai has adapted its appearance to reflect its origins. Built over 90 years ago, the thatched-roof Odin House is based on and inspired by a cruise on a saloon steamer.
This is precisely the salon feel that can be found here. With the ship as the guiding principle, Protea ceiling lights, a wall covered in canvas resembling a ship's trunk, and a chef's table in the arched ceiling for a captain's dinner close to the kitchen, thanks to the open kitchen.
During the day, breakfast and South African street food on colorful plates delight, such as the national dish Bobotie, a minced meat casserole with water buffalo, seasonal mushrooms and the fruitiness of bananas and apricots, vegan potato soup or delicious homemade cakes.
Noteworthy: Many main courses are available as half portions for those with a small appetite.
In the evening, the 40 seats inside the restaurant are more elegantly set. Sylt mussels from Jan from Hörnum in Cape Malay curry or fish stew are part of the regular and popular menu.
You can find the complete restaurant report in the current book Sylt à la carte. Available nationwide in bookstores or in our online shop at www.eiland.de
