Antonio Kabbani arranged the colorful interior with a sure sense of taste: The combination of dark and light wood, red curtains, and historical posters on the walls would also be at home in a trattoria in bella Italia – bellissimo! A visit to Il Ristorante means pasta, fish, and Pavarotti – you can practically hear the unforgettable master belting out his "O sole mio." Pure Mediterranean lifestyle, paired with a passion for cooking and wine.
Completely in the mood for the land where the lemons bloom, one is naturally excited by the kitchen's offerings, which draw on Tuscany, Sardinia, and Sicily. Particularly popular are the antipasti and, above all, the recommendations outside the regular menu, which always reflect the diverse inspirations of the cuisine and the respective seasonal offerings. In Italy, pasta is often eaten as a starter – here, of course, you can also get it as a main course, seasonally, for example as tagliatelle con coniglio (rabbit leg ragu), with vongole, or with asparagus. The delicate veal liver is fried in butter and, with sage, acquires its special Italian flavor. Meat lovers enjoy the veal chop with pan-fried Mediterranean vegetables. Served with rosemary potatoes or fresh spinach leaves.
Many guests come here just for the salt-crusted fish, like sea bream or sea bass. Dessert is also not to be missed. The chef raves about the dolce misto, which consists of tiramisu, panna cotta, and two sweet surprises.
