A destination for locals and vacationers, surfers and sun worshippers. Regular parties and live music in the summer. Easily accessible via a wooden walkway. From simple beach fare (rice pudding) to bistro dishes (baked potatoes in various variations) to salads with feta cheese or shrimp. Their own red wine, "Der Don," is available.

The cool beach location, where people are happy to walk for miles across the dunes. Buhne 16 is a cult favorite, partly because it was one of the first surfing hotspots of its kind on the island. The family-run business on the beach, which was already a celebrity haunt in the 60s and 70s, has managed to become increasingly trendy over the years while still remaining grounded. The "hut" is constantly being improved to make it even more cozy.
Truly everyone meets here – whether locals, celebrities, surfers, young or old. It's the relaxed, casual atmosphere that Tim and Sven Behrens – the bosses on the beach – and a super-friendly crew ensure.
Everything is homemade, including the delicious raisin cake. They serve excellent coffee – from my friend Christian Appel of the Rantumer Kaffeerösterei.
The Buhne 16 kitchen offers simple, delicious dishes for beach survival: tender herring, super-good Berlin currywurst, stew, and much more... From June to August, the food offerings are expanded with various grill stations.
