Island Game Sylt

The Island Game is a diverse city game in which you discover Westerland through its urban art and culture. Interactive tasks await you, inviting you to experience your surroundings from a new perspective. Graffiti, architectural culture, stickers, sculptures, and typography – embark on an urban exploration and make the island's capital your playing field. You'll be surprised by what you'll find!

The game was created as part of the Family Weeks 2024 by Sylt Kids and guests in cooperation with the school class 7c and the club “the Urbanists eV” developed and designed with love and commitment for you. The project was supported by Family Center Sylt,  Sylt Bank and the Sylt Marketing GmbH.

FAQ about Island Game Sylt

  • Who is the game suitable for?
    For everyone who enjoys a playful discovery tour through Westerland – whether you are a Sylt expert, new to the island or simply visiting.

  • How many people can play the game?
    The game can be played with at least two groups of two to seven people each. It also works as an interactive city walk without competing in teams.

  • How long is the game?
    The length of the game depends entirely on you. It depends on whether you're playing against the clock or using it as a leisurely stroll through the city and/or taking a break along the way. Generally, however, you should play for about 2h plan for the game.

  • Does it cost anything to rent the game? 
    No, the game is completely free.

  • What else do I need to know about the game?
    Each group will need a smartphone or digital camera to complete additional tasks.

A special highlight is the Sylt Legendary Forest in Wenningstedt, which recently extended to Kampen was expanded. Imaginatively designed play equipment tells exciting stories and invites children to explore. Centrally located on the Westerland promenade is the Villa Kunterbunt's adventure playground, which invites you to exciting conquests with a large pirate ship.

Pirate ships are particularly popular on Sylt: Little explorers can find more models at Lister Harbor and on Wenningstedt beach. If you prefer something quieter, you can relax on the spacious Playground behind the Archsum kindergarten Small but charming is the Puken playground opposite the parsonage in Keitum – ideal for a relaxing break.
