Four ways to the island

Ferry

The FRS Sylt ferries SyltExpress and RömöExpress connect the Lister Harbor on Sylt with the Danish port of Havneby on Rømø. 

The modern Sylt ferry transports passengers and cars from Sylt's neighboring island of Rømø to List on Sylt. The journey across the North Sea takes approximately 40 minutes.

Car train

If you want to travel by car, you can use the Car train from Niebüll use either the red DB Sylt Shuttle or blue CAR TRAIN Sylt.

In Niebüll, you board the car train and can relax in your vehicle during the journey, enjoying the impressive panorama of the Wadden Sea. After about 35 minutes, you'll arrive on the island.

Train

If you'd rather leave your car at home, the train is a convenient way to travel. From Denmark, for example, there is a direct connection to Flensburg, from where you can continue your journey by bus from Flensburg to Niebüll and from Niebüll to Westerland on Sylt by train. From Tønder, the North German Railway Niebüll (neg) to Niebüll, where there is a transfer to Westerland/Sylt.

In addition there is daily direct train connections from Hamburg* and other German cities to Sylt.

Airplane

From Denmark, you can fly quickly and comfortably to Sylt and discover the beauty of the North Sea island. You can land your private plane at Sylt Airport. For more information, contact General Aviation Terminal (GAT).

Day trip from Rømø

A relaxing day full of nature and enjoyment: A day trip from Rømø to Sylt is a special experience. From Rømø, the ferry takes you directly to List on Sylt in a short time. Discover the island with a stroll along the endless beaches, enjoy a delicious fish sandwich in List harbor, or explore List.

With the Public bus From List you can easily reach the central bus station in Westerland or you rent a Bicycle and go on a discovery tour!
