Sylt Transport Company

From Westerland flexible to all island locations

The Sylt Transport Company (SVG) buses depart from Westerland and travel to all the island's towns. Special facilities at the rear of the buses also allow for the transport of bicycles. Within Westerland, there are two city bus routes with numerous boarding points.

Ticket sales on SVG buses are now cashless only.

From June 1, 2026, payment on SVG buses will be exclusively cashless. Accepted payment methods on the bus include Girocard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and common credit cards such as Mastercard and Visa. Passengers can also continue to purchase their tickets digitally before boarding, for example via the SyltGO! app or the DB Navigator app.

Passengers who wish to continue paying in cash can do so at central ticket offices before boarding. Cash will continue to be accepted at the ticket counters in Westerland at the central bus station (ZOB), in the pavilion in front of the train station, and at the pavilions at the harbors in List and Hörnum. Single and season tickets, as well as rechargeable prepaid cards, can be purchased there and paid for with cash. These prepaid cards can then be conveniently used on the bus.

Taking your bike with you: It's easy!

Was the tour to List, Morsum or Hörnum windier and more strenuous than expected?

Then treat yourself to a relaxing return trip by bus! All buses on Sylt are equipped with bike racks for up to five bikes. Please note: E-bikes with batteries attached to the frame cannot be transported if the frame is wider than 7 cm at the mounting point.

Here's how it works: Just give the bus driver a quick heads-up, place your bike on the bike rack, and secure it with the provided clamps. Then hop on board and buy your ticket—and you're ready to head back!

Free Wi-Fi on buses

Take the bus to Hörnum and at the same time check the departure times of the Adler ships or browse the latest Sylt pictures on Instagram?

It's child's play on the Sylter Verkehrsgesellschaft (SVG) buses! All buses on Sylt offer free Wi-Fi. The bus's own router provides passengers with an LTE connection, subject to availability. You can find the access data in several places on the bus.
