By train from Hamburg-Altona to Westerland/Sylt
The S1 suburban train line takes you from Hamburg Airport to Altona station quickly, easily, and without changing trains. The station is located directly within the airport and is easily accessible by elevators and escalators. Ticket machines are located near the baggage carousels in the arrivals area or between the arrivals level and the platform. The S1 runs every 10 minutes and will get you to Altona in just 38 minutes . Alternatively, you can take a taxi, which is about 5 minutes faster.
From Altona station, the regional train departs hourly to Sylt. The journey takes approximately three hours.
