Sylt megalithic tombs
Thousands of years
Our history
It's no longer possible to determine exactly where the more than 400 burial mounds and megalithic tombs were located on the island. At the beginning of the 18th century, treasure hunters were so passionate about finding treasures that the legends of immeasurable treasures were even pursued by a society. Today, only a few examples of the millennia-old structures in which the ashes of the deceased were interred remain.
But you don't necessarily have to keep your treasure-hunting ambitions in check: you can certainly gather knowledge and wonder and take it home duty-free. Flyers "hünen.kultour" You can explore the Sylt megalithic tombs on your own. The Stone Age tomb Denghoog in Wenningstedt can even be viewed from the inside.
