Our Sylt running tips for you:

That's how it works on Sylt!

  • 1. The journey is the destination: Sylt's landscape is truly breathtakingly beautiful and diverse. Treat yourself to breaks and let your gaze wander.

  • 2. Layered look: The Sylt climate and the wind can sometimes be a challenge, so a layered running outfit is certainly helpful.

  • 3. Running barefoot on the beach: The sandy surface and the resulting unfamiliar demands on your muscles and coordination make running twice as strenuous and extremely effective. Start slowly and get used to it. At low tide, the sand is nice and firm.

  • 4. Treat nature and animals with respect: The environment is our most precious asset, and that's why it's so important that we treat it with care. Please make sure you don't leave any trash behind and stay on designated paths.

  • 5. Run in the morning or evening: If you're looking for peace and quiet and enjoy running alone, it's worth getting up early. The island is usually still waking up, and you can listen to the wonderful sounds of nature.
